I worked as Creative Director and Project Manager for “The People’s Plan: Reimagining Policing & Public Safety on Long Island,” on everything from creating graphics to layout and typesetting for a 311 page plan,

“for the purposes of addressing the particular needs of the communities served by such police agency and promote community engagement to foster trust, fairness, and legitimacy, and to address any racial bias and disproportionate policing of communities of color,”

pursuant to New York Executive Order 203.

In October of 2022 I was the sole Designer and Project Manager for Monitoring Police Reform in Nassau County: Tracking Implementation Two Years After George Floyd’s Death, working closely with LI United to Transform Policing and Community Safety’s Police Accountability workgroup, chaired by Susan Gottehrer. Ms. Gottehrer is the Director of the Nassau County chapter of the ACLU (NYCLU). I worked closely with her on revisions and final polishing before I prepared and sent off the finished document (with all appropriate appendices) for a press conference on Oct. 11th.

One of my roles was to design 'One-Pagers’ which are both summaries for the government officials we are trying to sway (to create plans that are truly pursuant to NY EO 203) but also for the public to understand at a glance what our recommendations are and why they are so important. Below are those infographics (and the document with these specifically can be found here.)

The illustration was done by another volunteer and the layout was roughed out in committee.

I collaborated on this layout and some of the icons with another designer.
